How to calculate rubberwood CBM

CBM (cubic meters) is the standard unit for international wood trade. Knowing CBM per sheet lets you compare quotes, estimate container fill, and convert pricing between per-CBM and per-sheet.

The formula

Volume (m³) = Width(m) × Length(m) × Thickness(m) = Width × Length × Thickness × 10⁻⁹ (mm). A 1220×2440×18 mm sheet = 0.053582 m³ ≈ 18.66 sheets per m³.

Price per CBM vs per sheet

Price/sheet = Price/CBM × volume per sheet. Price/CBM = Price/sheet × pieces per m³. The calculator converts both ways instantly.

Weight by core

Weight per sheet = density × volume. Rubberwood core ≈ 640 kg/m³; Acacia ≈ 580; Eucalyptus ≈ 650; Styrax ≈ 500. Use custom density for any species — this drives container weight limits.

Frequently asked questions

How do you calculate CBM for plywood?
Multiply Length(m) × Width(m) × Thickness(m). A 1220×2440×18mm sheet = 1.22 × 2.44 × 0.018 = 0.05358 CBM.
How many sheets fit in 1 CBM?
Depends on thickness. 18mm plywood at 1220×2440 ≈ 18.6 sheets/CBM; 9mm ≈ 37.2 sheets/CBM. See the calculator for exact figures.
What is the weight of 1 CBM of rubberwood plywood?
Roughly 600–680 kg/CBM depending on core mix and moisture. This matters for the ~26-ton payload limit of a 40HC container.
How many sheets fit in a 40HC container?
A 40HC holds ~58 m³ of stacked panels usable. Sheets = 58 ÷ volume per sheet. The calculator estimates this automatically — confirm exact loading with our team.
